hat said, one can take virtually any period of our political history and find Saskatchewan opposition voices like Tommy Douglas or M.J. Coldwell or John Diefenbaker who spoke for Saskatchewan interests with eloquence and passion

Useless doesnt even begin to describe them!!!
Mr Mandryk hits the nail right on the head with his comments. The MP's we have representing us in Ottawa are completely useless and will NOT and HAVE NOT done a single thing to support Saskatchewan

I sometimes wonder if the rest of the country thinks Saskatchewan people are like their politicians. The current crop of MP's is less than impressive.
Part of the problem is that our electoral boundaries are completely gerrymandered towards rural ridings that makes urban dwellers outside of Regina-Wascana irrelevant, but I know this is not the entire story.
Factor in guys like Jim Pankiw and Larry Spencer, Saskatchewan supplies some terrible MP's to Ottawa. I have a feeling that Dave Batters will be supplying some strange drama in short order too...
Given that Brad Wall sold out Saskatchewan on equalization, Saskatchewan probably has less national importance than we have at anytime since we became a province which is strange considering we have some economic clout now.
